Deep Foundations Institute was incorporated in 1976 in the State of New Jersey as a 501 non-profit association. DFI can best be described as being a technical association of firms and individuals in the deep foundations and related industry. The Institute membership is worldwide. The Institute is organized to serve as a primary means through which members of the Institute may participate in improvement of the planning, design and construction aspects of deep foundations and deep excavations. For over thirty years, DFI has gathered professionals in the deep foundations sector of the construction industry, to create a place for discussion, inquiry and debate. In so doing, DFI has brought the disciplines together where they have learned from each other, creating a better informed, more communicative foundations industry.

The European Federation of Foundation Contractors (EFFC) represents companies in 17 European countries. Member companies are specialist contractors in the construction industry who undertake the construction of all types of foundations and other geotechnical processes (ie piling, diaphragm walling, grouting, ground anchors, ground improvement, dewatering, etc)

EFFC's objectives are to promote the common interests of members of the federation; to improve standards of workmanship; and to maintain high standards of technical competence, safety and innovation throughout the European foundation sector.

Hong Kong Geotechnical Society
The primary aim of the Hong Kong Geotechnical Society is the exchange and dissemination of knowledge and experience amongst geotechnical practitioners in the HKSAR with the view of contributing to the achievement of excellence in geotechnical engineering for the benefit of society. The Hong Kong Geotechnical Society also aims to promote international cooperation amongst engineers and scientists for the advancement of knowledge in the field of geotechnics and its 2 engineering applications.

The Hong Kong Geotechnical Society will promote its aim by holding regular local technical meetings, site visits and seminars. It will also organize or participate in the organisation of international and regional conferences and symposia, exchange information with counterparts, and cooperate with other organisations whose aims are complementary to those of the Hong Kong Geotechnical Society, the Geotechnical Division of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE).
